Isaac Howard Selected 31st Overall by Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning have selected Isaac Howard with the 31st overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Isaac Howard

Howard, 18, played for the USNTDP last season. The left winger recorded 130 points across 93 games with the development program last season. This included competition in the USHL, the U-18 World Juniors, and with the USDP. Howard will not go directly to the show as he is set to play in college next season. He will suit up for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

The Wisconsin-born player stands 5’10” tall while weighing in at 181 pounds. Howard will need to grow stronger to excel at the next level. Despite this wall, the American is an elite goal scorer who should transform into a top-six forward for the Bolts. Ranked ninth among North American Skaters, the Lightning will be pleased to have found him late in the first round. A dominant scorer from Wisconsin, was also found in Cole Caufield; Howard can be similar.
