Lucas Edmonds Selected 86th Overall by Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning have selected Lucas Edmonds with the 86th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Lucas Edmonds

Edmonds, 21, played for the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL last season. The right winger was dominant with 113 points in 68 games. He also recorded a point per game in the playoffs. Edmonds has aged out of junior hockey so he will have to report to the professional leagues next season. A feel-good story, the young man has finally been drafted after being passed on the previous three years.

The Ontario-born player stands 5’11” tall and 185 pounds, another small draft pick for Tampa Bay. As being an older player, Edmonds’ game is more complete. He is an all-around offensive talent who can move the puck as well as put it in the net. He was ranked 72nd by TSN’s Craig Button and 104th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.
