The Miami Dolphins defense had their best showing of the season en route to a 22-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens Thursday night.
Among many stories and headlines from the game, Kicker Jason Sanders made three field goals on three attempted. Also, Pro-Bowl Cornerback Xavien Howard forced a fumble and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown. And arguably the most important storyline was the contributions made by Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who came off the bench to replace Jacoby Brissett.
Tua threw for 158 yards and had a one-yard rushing touchdown with 2:19 left in the game. Brissett passed for 156 yards before needing to depart in the third quarter with an injured right knee.
Meanwhile, Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson struggled throughout the entirety of Thursday night’s game. Jackson completed 26 of 43 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown for Baltimore.
Lamar Jackson on the Dolphins Defense: “You know, it was cover 0 the majority of the whole game. They just got hot each and every time. I was dropping back, just couldn’t do nothing about that.”
The Ravens’ 10 points were their fewest in any of Lamar Jackson’s 46 career regular season starts. Also, Baltimore punted the football eight times; only one team has punted more in a game this season than the Ravens did Thursday night.
To make matters even worse, Baltimore’s streak of 51 regular-season games with at least 14 points — the second-longest such streak in NFL history behind a 63-game run by New England from 2009 through 2013 — came to an end.
Overall, it was a stunning win for Miami over Baltimore. Lamar Jackson is so good, but somehow, Miami’s defense was able to get to him, affecting his performance in a negative way.

The Dolphins will receive a much-needed bye week. Then, Miami will host the Carolina Panthers on November 28th.
