From USF To UCF… Timmy McClain Now Has a New Home

Former USF (South Florida) starting quarterback Timmy McClain has transferred to UCF (Central Florida).

McClain, who was born in Sanford, Florida, was expected to enter the transfer portal after the Baylor transfer, Gerry Bohanon, earned the starting job.

So, UCF is now getting a good, young QB that has the potential to be great. McClain will join a quarterback room that consists of Mikey Keene and John Rhys Plumlee, who are both fighting for the starting job.

As a true freshman last year at South Florida, McClain threw five touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 55% of his passes in nine games.

Reportedly, UCF beat out the likes of BYU, Penn State and Wisconsin to land McClain.

We will see how the Knights utilize McClain this season, and where he sits on the depth chart.
