Trevor Lawrence Named Jaguars Starting QB

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer named Trevor Lawrence his starting quarterback for the 2021 season.

Gardner Minshew was in the mix to be named Jacksonville’s starting quarterback, however, Lawrence is one of the most coveted prospects in NFL history.

Lawrence, 21, posted a 34-2 record through three seasons at Clemson while tossing 10,098 yards and 90 touchdowns with just 17 interceptions.

This preseason, Lawrence hasn’t impressed or raised eyebrows, however, the Jaguars’ first-string offense has struggled. They’ve managed just three points in the first halves of two games.

Last preseason game against New Orleans, Lawrence completed 14-of-23 passes for 113 yards for a 73.3 passer rating. Meanwhile, Minshew completed 13-of-21 passes for 149 yards and no touchdowns with one interception.
