Luke Coughlin Selected 191st Overall by the Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have selected Luke Coughlin with the 191st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Luke Coughlin

Coughlin, 18, played for Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL last season. A defenseman, Coughlin scored 19 points through 37 games this year. The Prince Edward Island native missed the first two months due to injury causing him to miss some valuable time. In the playoffs, Coughlin added another 7 points through 9 games.

Coughlin is a potential high reward pick. His game is currently rough around the edges, but he still maintains the potential to be a top-four talent. If he develops and cleans up the game, Coughlin can become the next big sixth round steal. His offensive ability is strong, it is now just on his surrounding skill to improve.
