Jamal Agnew Loves DUUUVAL! You Should Too.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver and return specialist Jamal Agnew sat down with our very own Andrew Eshman of the Jag Roar Podcast. Agnew discussed many things, including the state of his injury, his story and path to the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and MUCH MORE.

Regarding his injury, Agnew had to say the following:

“I’m feeling good. I’m getting stronger. I’m right on track where I need to be, probably a little bit ahead of time. Obviously I had a freak injury but the best part… it could have been a lot worse than it looked. Thankfully my knee wasn’t even messed up at all. It was just my calf; I strained my calf. Everything could have been worse so that’s kind of how I looked at it. Obviously you never want to get hurt like that and have your season cut short.”

Agnew assures Jaguar fans that he’ll be stronger than he’s ever been before, despite the long recovery process.

In the interview, Agnew provided an answer to an interesting question, one that brought up Jamal’s switch from defense (defensive back) to offense (wide receiver):

“I would just watch guys like Marvin, Kenny, Danny Amendola, and I would watch what they were doing, and just try to apply it to my game… the most difficult transition was probably learning playbooks, offensive terminology… you think you know a lot when you play madden, but you dive into these offensive playbooks – it’s crazy.”

Jamal Agnew is such a fun player to watch as well. This past season, Agnew had a record-tying 109-yard return on a missed Matt Prater 68-yard field goal. Agnew’s return was just the third 109-yard touchdown in NFL history, tying Antonio Cromartie (interception return) and Cordarrelle Patterson (kickoff return) for the league record.
