In what took eternity, MLB players have finally accepted the owners proposal, and the start of spring training is imminent. The players’ board vote to accept a deal was 26-12.
Opening Day will reportedly be on April 7th, and MLB fans and players will still be able to experience a full, 162-game season. In addition to the universal designated hitter rule and no shifts, nine inning doubleheaders and regular extra inning rules will return. Players can report to spring-training camps as early as tomorrow (Friday, March 11th).
According to multiple sources, Free Agency can open up tonight (Thursday, March 10th).
