The Miami Marlins have traded OF Starling Marte and cash considerations to the Oakland Athletics for LHP Jesus Luzardo.
Starling Marte
Marte, 32, is a former All-Star (2016) and two-time Gold Glove Winner (2015 and 2016). The 32-year-old is hitting .306 this season with 25 RBI’s and 22 SB’s in 63 games. In his career (1077 games), Marte is a .288 hitter with 121 home runs and 1182 hits.
Marte will become a Free Agent after this season.
Jesús Luzardo
Luzardo, 23, attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The 23-year-old lefty is 2-4 this season with a 6.87 ERA (13 games). In his career (31 games), Luzardo is 5-6 with a 4.79 ERA.
Luzardo will not become a Free Agent until 2027.
