With the 152nd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Florida Panthers have selected goalie Kirill Gerasimyuk.
Kirill Gerasimyuk
Gerasimyuk, 17, had a .931 SV% and a 2.59 goals-against average in 27 appearances in Russia’s MHL this past season. According to Elite Prospects, he’s calm and composed, quick to get down to the butterfly, just about unbeatable on his glove side, and controls rebounds with ease. He also has quick-twitch reflexes and plays with his attention level on high.
The Russian goaltender could emerge as a legitimate NHL starter in the coming years. The 17-year-old also has a clear path to earn starts in the VHL and possibly the KHL.
