Florida Panthers Select Evan Nause 56th Overall

With the 56th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Florida Panthers have selected Evan Nause.

Evan Nause

Nause, 18, is a left-handed defenseman from the QMJHL for Quebec. While the 18-year-old isn’t too flashy, he has great distribution ability and is effective in all areas of the ice. In today’s NHL, Nause can thrive on the ice. He has the ability to be a steady, second-pairing defenseman with the ability to play in any situation and is effective on the power play and penalty kill.

Last season in the QMJHL, Nause had 22 points (four goals and 18 assists) in 32 games. And in the USHL (last season), the second-round pick had 17 points (three goals and 14 assists) in 44 games.

Evan Nause on what he brings to the ice and being drafted: “I’m a competitive guy. I love to win. I’m a hardworking guy and I’m super excited to be part of the organization… I had my fingers crossed I was going to get picked by Florida. I really wanted it.”
