Jaylen Waddle Selected by the Miami Dolphins

With the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins have selected Jaylen Waddle out of Alabama.

Jaylen Waddle

Jaylen Waddle, 22, is headed to Miami for a reunion with Tua Tagovailoa. Waddle is one of the fastest players in the nation and combines that with electric, Percy Harvin-like, ability to avoid tackles and turn short catches into 80-yard catch and runs. He has even earned comparisons to the likes of Tyreek Hill.

While DeVonta Smith took much of the media attention at Alabama, Waddle had 28 receptions for 557 yards and 22.3 yards per receptions in 2020 (six games). Waddle, who had four touchdowns last season, outproduced Smith who had 483 yards, 12.8 yards per catch and four touchdowns. In total, Waddle caught 106 passes for 1,999 yards (18.9 average) in his collegiate career, with 17 touchdowns.

Waddle now joins a receiving corps currently led by DeVante Parker and the recently signed Will Fuller.
