Sam Bennett Impresses in Win Over Columbus

Frank Vatrano scored two goals and Anthony Duclair had two assists as the Florida Panthers defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night.

In addition to Vatrano’s multi-goal game, Sam Bennett and Radko Gudas also scored for Florida. Bennett, who was acquired last week in a trade with the Calgary Flames, has points in each of his last six games (three points in his two games with Florida).

“It’s awesome being here. I’m having a lot of fun and the support from the team has been great,” Sam Bennett said. “I love playoff hockey and I think we’re going to do some damage, for sure.”

Meanwhile, Columbus continues to struggle against Sergei Bobrovsky, a former Blue Jacket. Bobrovsky, 32-years-old, made 34 saves on Monday night, racking up his fifth win in his last seven starts and 17th win of the season.

For the Blue Jackets, Elvis Merzlikins turned back 35 shots. But he got little offensive help. However, Oliver Bjorkstrand got his team-leading 15th goal.
