Markelle Fultz Is An Early MIP Candidate

The Magic have started the year 4-1 and 22 year old PG Markelle Fultz has already gotten himself in position to be a MIP candidate this year. Fultz is averaging 16.4 PPG 3.4 RPG and 5.4 APG. He’s been a great scorer and passer for the Magic so far.

Overview

After signing a 3 year, 50 million dollar deal this offseason, Markelle Fultz is showing he’s worth all of that money. The young guard has shown his ability to be clutch late in games with big buckets and passes. He looks to be an enormous piece in the Magic’s future. Also, Fultz set his career high on December 28th with 26 points against the Washington Wizards. Along with Jonathan Isaac, Mo Bamba and Cole Anthony, the young core of the Magic will look to become contenders in the near future.

Rest of Season Predictions

Last year Fultz averaged 12.1 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 5.8 APG. Expect his PPG numbers to go way up. Fultz is a special playmaker and can score at will along with his ability to create for others. Expect him to put up around 15-20 PPG, 4 RPG, and 6 APG. He also should average about a steal per game. Buy his early stock because he is going to be a focal point of this Magic offense and have a big year.

Possible MIP?

With this hot start he’s already getting many supporters for a MIP campaign, and he could very well win it. His odds to win MIP are +2500 and they should only go up. He will be in the conversation with guys like Christian Wood, Michael Porter Jr., and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. A +2500 bet on Fultz to win MIP could pay off big at the end of the year if he continues at this pace. Watch out for Fultz this year, as he’s going to make a big leap.
