Another “Miami Miracle”

The Dolphins have done it again. In a miracle season like none other, the Miami Dolphins make yet another push for the playoffs. It wasn’t easy that’s for sure, but the Dolphins were able to get themselves into a position to win.

Recap

It started off not so well for Miami in the first half. They gave up 13 points and only scored 6. We all knew, however, that this game was nowhere near over. So the Dolphins went to work. They put together a 4 minute drive and tacked on a touchdown with an extra point that tied the game up 13-13. From here on out it was back and forth. But in order for the Dolphins to suceed, Brian Flores mad the decision to bench Tua and put in veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Down 22-16 the Dolphins had to find someone offense. Myles Gaskin would be the answer as he scooped up a short pass and took it 59 yards to the house and put the Dolphins even with the Raiders. Then an extra point from Jason Sanders gave Miami its first lead all night. The celebration wasn’t about to happen though, because the Raiders still had plenty of time to score. They did just that as they went 7 plays and 71 yards in 2:36, adding on a field goal and leaving only 18 seconds for the Dolphins. With no timeouts left, the Fins would escape a sinking ship and get down to the 26-yard line on three plays. This left an easy field goal for Jason Sanders for their 10th victory this year.

Jon Gruden and Coaching

This was no doubt about it, a terrible play call. When the Raiders got down to the 6-yard line on second down, they ran the ball. Jacobs was able to slide down purposely with a 5-yard gain to the one one-yard line. Now run the ball right? Not in Jon Gruden’s playbook. He decided to have Carr take a knee to leave minimum time for the dolphins, and set up a Field Goal for his team, instead of what could have been a touchdown. The Dolphins ended up winning the game because of this call, that eliminates the Raiders from playoff contention.

Fitzmagic leads Dolphins to Victory

Dolphins stun Raiders as Ryan Fitzpatrick steps in for Tua Tagovailoa

On the final drive, Fitzpatrick came alive. It was with 16 seconds on first down that Fitzpatrick made what will go down as one of the best passes of 2020. Fitzpatrick threw an unbelievable and no-look 34 yard pass to Mack Hollins with a facemask penalty. This set up a 44-yard Field Goal for the win. Fitzpatrick did a great job off the bench, finishing 9 of 13 on passes with 182 yards to close out this Saturday night victory. If anybody is going to have a great holiday, its Fitzmagic and his Miami Dolphins who are one step closer to making the postseason.

The Dolphins have one final game coming in Buffalo against the Bills. If they win, the Fins make the playoffs. If they lose, it’s all up to the Ravens and if they lose their game.
