Trevor Lawrence Is In Sight For Jacksonville

After the Jets shocked the Rams 23-20 on Sunday, they fell out of position for the #1 pick. Who holds it as of right now? The Jacksonville Jaguars, who with their 1-13 record through Week 15 only have to lose 2 more games to be in position to draft Trevor Lawrence.

Trevor Lawrence Overview

Trevor Lawrence is one of the best prospects we have seen in a while and he projects to be a star in the NFL. He has great size at 6’6, 220 pounds, has a great arm, accurate, and much more. In 15 games last year, Lawrence had 3,665 yards and a 36-8 TD to INT ratio. He also showed mobility rushing for 563 yards and 9 touchdowns. He led the Clemson Tigers to the National Championship, where they were defeated by LSU, led by former #1 pick Joe Burrow. This year he has 2,753 yards, 22 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, in 9 games. His best game this season came against Pitt, where he threw for 403 yards, 2 touchdowns, and had a 70.3% completion percentage. He has been great for Clemson, with limited turnovers, and many big plays.

How would Lawrence fit in with the Jaguars?

The Jaguars already have a lot of young talent, and Lawrence would have a lot to work with. DJ Chark Jr. has shown he is a star, and had over 1,000 yards last year, even missing a game. This year his production has been inconsistent, but he’s had to deal with bad QB play and injuries. Laviska Shenault Jr. is another young jaguar receiver, who has shown his athleticism and great ability in flashes. James Robinson is another weapon, as he has already rushed for over 1,000 yards as a rookie. Lawrence would have some targets already, and the Jaguars will likely add a TE and O-Line help either in the draft or free agency.

What if the Jaguars win?

If the Jaguars end up actually winning another game, and the Jets lose out, the Jaguars would once again hold the #2 pick. They would likely end up selecting another QB prospect, other than Lawrence, such as Justin Fields. The Jaguars losing out would be so much more beneficial to their future than winning a game. With Lawrence on the line, fans will hope the Jaguars don’t upset the Bears or Colts, the two remaining opponents.
