After over a year out of football, Antonio Brown is signing a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former Steelers, Raiders, and Patriots star was one of the best wide receivers from the last decade. Brown is a 4x 1st team All-Pro, and a 7x Pro Bowler, who played nine seasons with the Steelers before being traded to the Raiders. He was then released after getting in a fight with Raiders GM Mike Mayock, and after a whole helmet controversy. He then signed with the Patriots, and was released after just one game, following sexual assault allegations. Brown then got an eight-game suspension for personal conduct reasons this offseason. Now, he’s signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and improving an already stacked offense.
Overview
Brown is signing with Tampa Bay on a one-year deal, and his physical is pending. As long as everything goes through, he should be active for the Buccaneers Week 9 matchup against the Saints. Brown seemed to be on a path toward Canton, until his legal issues and fall-out with the Raiders. He will try to get his HOF case back on track in Tampa with former teammate Tom Brady throwing him the ball. Brady made a big push to sign him, and he got his wish.
In his last full year with Pittsburgh (2018), Antonio Brown had 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns. He won’t have the same amount of production though, competing for targets with Pro Bowlers Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Rob Gronkowski.
