Following a 7-18 overall record and 2-7 in the 6A District 1 Conference, Pace High School’s basketball program will look to rebound in the 2022-2023 season. After losing 2021-2022 high school graduates Brent Cadenhead, Alexandru Enciu, and Connor Ferguson, Head Coach Houston Ramsay will rely heavily on his 2022-2023 high school graduates, such as Donohoe, Hazelwood, Wright, Hill, Littlefield, and Bondurant. Similarly, a jump in two-way play from D’amico and Burchett would go a long way for Pace. Finally, Ramsay decided to give star football players Tyner and Lyons Jr both spots on the varsity roster, signaling their athleticism and versatility.

As shown above, Pace High School will begin the 2022-2023 season by traveling to Pensacola to face Pine Forest High School on November 21st, before returning home to face Central High School. From there, six of Pace’s next seven games will be against conference foes, including a four-game stretch from December 2nd to the 16th. In reference to this, Pace has 18 days off before their first matchup of the new year versus Pine Forest High School at home on January 3rd. It turns out that January will be a pivotal month for the Patriot’s basketball team, as Pace will play eight games leading up to the  “2022-2023 Boys Basketball 6A District One Tournaments. Dating back to last season, No. 7 seed Pace was defeated by No. 2 Gulf Breeze 50-60 in the first round, before the Dolphins went on to beat No. 1 seed Booker T. Washington in the championship game, 67-52.
