Now that the 2021-22 season has come to an end for the Tampa Bay Lightning, it’s time to get down to business as we enter the offseason.
The Lightning are currently $1.893M over their cap hit, but with Brent Seabrook’s $6.875M contract on long-term injury reserve, this gives the Bolts approximately $4.9M to spend on these players. Some notable names that need new contracts are Ondrej Palat, Nick Paul, and Jan Rutta.
Obviously, the Bolts can trade players with big contracts to earn more salary cap space. But to say the least, this should be an interesting offseason.
