The ONLY Undefeated Team in Baseball… the Tampa Bay Rays!

After just three games, the Tampa Bay Rays are the only team in the MLB with an undefeated record (3-0).

While the season just started, and the Rays were at home against a below-average Baltimore Orioles team, the Rays have impressive stats and have made impressive plays that can hint at their full-season success.

In their Opening Day game against Baltimore, Tampa Bay’s offense only scored two runs, but their pitching secured the win, allowing only one run. Shane McClanahan lasted 4.1 innings while allowing no runs with seven strikeouts.

In their second game, the Rays defeated the Orioles, 5-3. 26-year-old catcher Francisco Mejía hit a two-run home run for the Rays, which was the difference for Tampa Bay.

The most recent game, which was Tampa Bay’s third of the season, saw Tampa Bay’s true colors. The offense was incredible, and the defense/pitching was even better. Offseason addition Corey Kluber pitched 4.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. The rest of the Rays bullpen, which saw outings from Springs, Adam, Beeks, and Wisler, kept the Orioles off the scoreboard.

On offense, Brandon Lowe hit a two-run home run. Other hits with runners on bases kept the Rays rolling, and eventually secured the 8-0 victory.

Through three games, young stud Wander Franco is batting .545 with six hits and a .500 OBP. Franco is also the only Ray to have a stolen base so far this season.

The Rays will host the Oakland Athletics for the next four games before heading on the road for the first time this season to face the Chicago White Sox.
