Keanu Neal Signs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made another big splash in free agency, recently signing safety Keanu Neal to a one-year deal.

Neal spent just one season with the Dallas Cowboys and before that, he spent five years with the Atlanta Falcons before the team picked up his fifth-year option.

Neal has been put at many positions on the defensive side of the ball. The Falcons strictly had him as a safety while last year, the Cowboys had him at the linebacker spot, too. Either way, the Buccaneers needed more depth at the secondary group due to the amount of injuries those players suffered. Sean Murphy-Bunting, Carlton Davis, and Mike Edwards all missed time at some point throughout the season. Neal adds more depth to that spot along with other free agency pick up, Logan Ryan.

In the 2021-22 NFL season, Neal had 72 tackles in 14 games played. He had no interceptions, but then again, Dallas had him at linebacker and not in the secondary.
