Minnesota Escapes Miami Yet Again

Revenge wasn’t sweet for the Miami Heat (45-24) as they lost to Minnesota (39-30), 113-104.

What Did We Learn?

Tyler Herro is a hero to the heart of Miami Heat fans. For the fourth time this season, Tyler Herro came off the bench and scored 20 points in the first half. That is now the most by any player in a season over the past 25 years. Despite the loss, the Kentucky alumnus finished with 30 points.

Bam Adebayo also had a stellar performance in the first half, netting 15 points.

Attacking the glass was very key for both of these teams. In order to stop the Timberwolves, drawing them into foul trouble is an enormous key to success, and Miami has proven that all season long with that kind of explosive energy.

Covering the Miami Heat thus far, they are so passive with the basketball, moving it around from pillar to post, under the glass, hitting their shots behind the arch, corner threes, and just being dominate in the paint. The core and leadership skills of both teams were answered in this ballgame.

More Takeaways From the Epic Battle

If you’re a Miami Heat fan, you knew the T-Wolves were going to respond by tying up the game multiple times. Give both of these teams credit for making this game very entertaining. How about both teams having a triple digit scoring effort? What more can you ask for? Of course 47 free throws were made in this contest! Lots of freebie points!

Jaylen Nowell stepped up for Minnesota with 16 points; both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards used their size and presence to record 15 points each.

Miami has to now refocus, regroup, and get much-needed rest.

With two games rounding out the Heat’s home schedule, how will they close out the homestand? Or, will their next two games snowball for the Heat?
