Future Hurricanes’ Bringing Home HS Hardware

2022 to The U!

With a lot of young talent about to step onto Green Tree this spring, there are some notable ones that are bringing some HS POTY hardware with them.

First up is Jacurri Brown, a quarterback out of Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Ga. Brown reeled in the GA region 1-7A POTY award. This kid is an impressive-looking athlete with all of the desired intangibles to go along with the position. Brown compiled some extremely impressive stats his senior season, totaling 2,165 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns and only three interceptions. But the kid doesn’t just win through the air, he wins on the ground as well. Brown put together some impressive numbers on the ground with 882 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Miami has themselves a future stud at QB.

Next up is sideline to sideline LB Wesley Bissainthe. Wesley will be bringing the FL 5A- Independent Co-POTY award with him on his way to Miami. With the size and speed to match with the killer linebacker instincts Wesley brings to the table, he’s all you could ever ask for. Through only 24 games played, he put together some strong numbers with 121 total tackles, 13.5 sacks and six interceptions. Let’s be honest here; Wesley does it all. It’s nothing short of a win in being able to sign him to the class of 2022.

Last up is Nyjalik Kelly. Kelly is an absolute backfield wrecker and compiled the FL 8A-6A POTY award. When it comes to HS defensive ends, this guy is coveted. Standing at a monstrous 6’5, 240 pounds, Kelly has a prototypical SEC body that the Hurricanes desperately needed as a freshman. Kelly won’t even turn 18 until midway through his freshman year of college. This kid knows how to sack and shed but will eventually need to find more power if he wants to hold his outnumber against top-level offensive line talent. Totaling 13 sacks as a junior and 12 more as a senior, Kelly faces the best of the best down in South Florida. He will have tremendous NFL upside if everything comes full-circle for him.
