Anez Cooper – OL
Anez Cooper, a three-star recruit, is a terrific signing by Mario Cristobal’s staff. You cannot teach a player to be 6’6, making it great to have that length out on the edge. Simply, Cooper is a trench bully.
Cooper, who is from Pleasant Grove (Alabama), chose Miami over Oregon and Auburn.
Trevonte Citizen – RB
Trevonte Citizen, a four-star running back out of Lake Charles, LA, is a former LSU recruit. His running style is phenomenal, and he has power with finesse and speed built in. The kid does not shy away from contact either. Want a comparison? Citizen has the same type of body as Fred Taylor did (6 feet, 220 pounds).
Picking the Canes over Florida and LSU, Citizen is currently the 9th ranked RB in the country.
Ahmad Moten – DL
The addition of Ahmad Moten is great for Miami. Moten, who played at Cardinal Gibbons, is an absolute home wrecker in the interior. The 6-3, 290-pound lineman is the 82nd ranked overall defensive lineman in the 2022 class. His brother actually attended the University of Miami and had a short stint with the Miami Dolphins.
Moten picked the Canes over OU, Iowa State, and others.
Matthew McCoy – OT
Miami keeps beefing up the offensive line, adding in-state tackle Matthew McCoy on national signing day. McCoy is another big bruiser at OT for Mario Cristobal. He made the switch from TE to OT in high school. McCoy is a little behind weight-wise, but that shouldn’t be a problem with Rodney Price and the Infamous Coach Aaron Feld leading the charge in strength and conditioning.
Of Note…
Five-star DL Shemar Stewart picked Texas A&M over Miami and Georgia. Stewart: “Miami just got a DC so I did not really trust that too much”.
