Panthers Win in Shootout Against St.Louis In Sea-Saw Game

The Florida Panthers defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers have now won three straight games and continue to hold a steady lead in the Atlantic Division.

Game Recap

Logan Brown opened the scoring for this game early in the first with a backhand shot. Florida would respond two minutes later with Maxim Mamin snapping it in to tie the game.

In the second, Jake Walman scored his first career NHL goal to regain the lead for St. Louis. Late in the second, Sam Reinhart scored to tie the game again.

Brandon Saad opened up scoring early in the third to give the Blues the lead yet again. But Florida wasn’t done there. With three minutes remaining, Maxim Mamin scored his second goal of the game to tie it at three apiece.

Overtime would solve nothing so this game needed a shootout. Sam Reinhart would score the game-winner for the Cats to give them the win.

Simply, the entirety of Saturday’s matchup featured back-and-forth action and scoring. This has been the trend for this top-notch Panthers team.
