The Jacksonville Jaguars got trounced at home by the team from the Bay: the San Francisco 49ers. Although it was still a blowout, the score doesn’t reflect how bad the loss was for Jacksonville. A late score for the home team made it seem more contested than it may seem throughout the game.
49ers
San Francisco has had a strong showing on the road this season with a 4-1 record including Sunday’s win. San Francisco continues their hot road play behind the leadership of Jimmy Garoppolo.
Jimmy completed 16 of 22 passes for a total of 176 yards and two touchdowns. One of those was to Brandon Aiyuk, who had seven total catches and 79 yards to go with his receiving touchdown. George Kittle was also on the receiving end of one of Jimmy’s touchdowns. Kittle brought in four catches for 34 yards.
Leading the way on the ground; Deebo Samuel had 79 rushing yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Jeff Wilson Jr. was also a threat on the ground, racking up 50 yards on 19 carries.
Jaguars
Jacksonville suffered yet another disappointingly low-scoring game. Trevor Lawrence had an average passing game without having a single score. The rookie quarterback completed 16 of 25 passes for a total of 158 yards while rushing for 23 yards. The silver lining for the day is that there were no interceptions.
James Robinson led the backs with 29 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Marvin Jones Jr. had four catches for a team-high 52 yards followed by Laviska Shenault Jr. who had five catches for 50 yards.
What’s Next?
Following Sunday’s game, there’s much more to be wanted from Jacksonville after seeing what they’re capable of in previous weeks. We shall see if they can find the juice for these games coming up.
Next week, Jacksonville will host the Atlanta Falcons.
