Magic Record Unexpected Win Versus Jazz

Cole Anthony dropped 33 points as the Orlando Magic stunned the Utah Jazz with a 107-100 win on Sunday night.

Wendell Carter Jr. is having a terrific start to this young NBA season. Sunday night against Utah, Carter Jr. recorded a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds to go along with six assists. The 22-year-old is currently averaging 13.7 PPG and 10.6 RPG.

Meanwhile, Jalen Suggs is continuing to disappoint for Orlando. Suggs had only six points to go along with two rebounds and five assists. Suggs is currently averaging only 12.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 3.5 APG.

Orlando’s star Sunday night was second-year PG Cole Anthony. Anthony gave the Magic a season-high 33 points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals. He connected on 13-of-20 shots from the floor, and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Anthony even got “M-V-P, M-V-P” chants from the Orlando crowd. So far this season, Anthony is averaging 20.2 points per game and shooting better than 40 percent from three-point range. Even more impressive, Anthony is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game.

Simply, Cole Anthony and the Magic were too much for Utah. The Jazz shot 19% from 3-point range, compared to Orlando’s 37.5%. Despite the loss, however, the Jazz out-rebounded the Magic 50-39.
