Panthers Remain Unbeaten, Defeat Avalanche 4-1

On a sunny evening in Sunrise, FL the red hot Florida Panthers welcomed in the Colorado Avalanche. As a western conference foe, this will be their only trip to Sunrise in the regular season. Avalanche Forward #92 Gabriel Landeskog returned to the lineup after coming off a two game suspension for boarding. The Panthers turned to starting goaltender #72 Sergei Bobrovsky and he did not disappoint!

Recap

Bobrovsky picked up his 300th career win as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots faced against him. He was voted first star of the game by the NHL and secured his third win to start the season. The Panthers had all of their goals Thursday night come from the forwards. The goal scorers included: #23 Carter Verhaeghe, #9 Sam Bennett, #13 Sam Reinhart, and an empty net goal by #15 Anton Lundell.

The Avalanche could not get things going after the first period. The Avalanche tied the game late in the first period on a loose change goal scored by #96 Mikko Rantanen. Past that, Colorado could not find their stride and looked very flat on the ice as the Panthers pulled away scoring two in the second period to lead three to one. Just under 11,000 fans showed up to the FLA Live arena to watch the Cats secure the four to one victory over the Avalanche.
