Tom Brady Continues Dominance, Buccaneers Defeat Eagles

Tom Brady has been impressive this year, and his tear did not stop in Philly. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers survived a late-game scare to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 28-22 on Thursday night.

Recap

The Bucs started off hot, marching their way down the field to score early. After a big play down the field to Mike Evans, Tampa Bay meticulously broke down the Eagles defense all the way into the end zone for six points. OJ Howard reeled in a beautiful lob pass from Tom Brady to put the Bucs on the board. The Eagles quickly responded though, with a seven-play, 75-yard drive of their own, aided by a pass interference penalty committed by James Dean. Zach Ertz got into the endzone for the last time as an Eagle (now on the Cardinals), after snagging a five-yard touchdown pass from Hurts.

But, the Bucs responded with a touchdown again. Antonio Brown snagged a pass from Brady and broke a few tackles. Then, he dove for glory into the end zone. Before the half, the Bucs made the Eagles pay for turning the ball over. After Hurts overthrew his wide receiver and got picked off, Leonard Fournette polished off a scoring drive with a two-yard score.

The Bucs came out of the half and picked up right where they left off. Fournette picked up 39 of his 81 rushing yards on that drive and scored from a yard out. It was his second of the game, and it was 28-7.

The Eagles did respond with two unanswered touchdown drives. Jalen Hurts ran both in for touchdowns but the Bucs closed out the game forcefully, collecting multiple first downs on their way to a victory on the road.

Stats

Tom Brady completed 81 percent of his passes with a bad thumb Thursday night. The 44-year-old also threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, RB Leonard Fournette ran for 81 yards and two scores and WR Antonio Brown had nine catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.
