Reid Sinnett Leads Comeback in Cincinnati

The Miami Dolphins closed out their preseason with a huge comeback win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Reid Sinnett and the Miami Dolphins

For the Miami Dolphins, they rested many of their starters, including Tua Tagovailoa and Jacoby Brissett. So, it gave headway to start second-year and undrafted quarterback Reid Sinnett. Sinnett certainly did not disappoint, going 22-of-33 for 343 yards, including two touchdowns and an interception. Sinnett would cap off a massive comeback, throwing a 44-yard touchdown pass to Kirk Merritt and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Chris Myarick in the final 5:57 of the game.

Sinnett’s 343 passing yards were the most in a preseason game since 2017.

Dolphins coach Brian Flores said, “Reid made some big throws. He battled to the bitter end and made a play at the end. I’m excited for him. He played his butt off.”

Rookie RB Gerrid Doaks also played well for Miami. The 23-year-old had 16 carries, 56 yards, and two touchdowns.

Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday’s game marked the return of former No. 1 overall pick, Joe Burrow. It was his first football game in nine months due to a torn ACL and MCL suffered in his rookie season.

Burrow would play only one offensive series, going 0-of-1, with the incompleted pass intended for fellow LSU WR, Ja’Marr Chase.

After taking Joe Burrow out, the torch was handed to Brandon Allen and Kyle Shurmur.

Allen would play the first couple of drives, going 5-of-9 for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Shurmur would play most of the game for the Bengals on Sunday. The 24-year-old was 18-of-27 passing for 206 yards and a touchdown.
