Tua Shines, Dolphins Beat Falcons 37-17

The Miami Dolphins ran away from the Atlanta Falcons with a 37-17 preseason victory on Saturday night.

The Falcons and Dolphins were missing many starters in Saturday’s game. For Atlanta, QB Matt Ryan, WR Calvin Ridley, TE Kyle Pitts, and many others were out. For Miami, WR Will Fuller, WR DeVante Parker, and WR Albert Wilson were among the many Dolphins’ out.

Tua Tagovailoa had a terrific game while playing only one half. Tua started the game 8-of-8 passing and led consecutive touchdown drives to open things up for Miami. In total, the Alabama product was 16-of-23 passing with 183 yards and one touchdown.

Jacoby Brissett and Reid Sinnett also played quarterback for Miami. Brissett was 8-of-8 passing with 99 yards and a touchdown. Also, Sinnett was 2-of-2 passing with seven yards and a touchdown. Overall, it was a fantastic night for Miami’s quarterback room.

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s quarterback room didn’t have as much success. AJ McCarron got the start and threw for 43 yards on 3-of-6 passing. Former Florida Gator Feleipe Franks did slightly better, throwing for 46 yards on 4-of-9 passing with one interception. Franks also had three carries for 32 yards.

The star of the game for Miami was LB Sam Eguavoen. Eguavoen had 11 tackles, four sacks, and one safety.

Another star for Miami was RB Myles Gaskin. In the running game, Gaskin had six rushes for 27 yards and a touchdown. And in the passing game, Gaskin had four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.
