The Florida Panthers have signed Sam Reinhart to a three-year deal worth $19.5M ($6.5M AAV).
Sam Reinhart
The Panthers recently acquired Reinhart in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres. In return, Goalie Devon Levi and a 2022 first-round pick (lottery protected) were sent to Buffalo.
Reinhart, 25, was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2014 NHL Draft – right behind current Florida defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Since then, the 25-year-old has been a terrific offensive piece for Buffalo. Last season (56 games), Reinhart had a team-leading 25 goals and 40 points. In his career (454 games), the Vancouver-born center has 134 goals and 161 assists (295 points).
GM Bill Zito on Reinhart: “Sam has established himself as one of the best playmaking scorers in the league, and we are thrilled to be able to add him to our lineup. His competitiveness and hunger to succeed will fit seamlessly with the culture we are building here in South Florida.”
