Jesus Aguilar Hits Walk-Off Home Run, Marlins Beat Dodgers

On Wednesday night, Jesus Aguilar hit a walk-off home run as the Miami Marlins defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was Miami’s third straight win against the Dodgers, as they look for the series sweep on Thursday.

Marlins Swinging With Intention

This game between the Marlins and Dodgers was not like any other game. Between the two teams, these men set off fireworks in Miami with eight total home runs. For the Marlins, Garrett Cooper came out swinging a sword as he blasted two bombs. Along with Cooper, Jesus Aguilar swung the bat with some intention as he recorded four RBIs in his four at-bats. Rookie Jesus Sanchez also went deep for Miami.

For the Dodgers, they had home runs from Mookie Betts, Zach McKinstry, and Justin Turner, who hit a three-run blast.

Pitching

Starting on the mound for the Marlins was left-handed slinger, Ross Detwiler. Detwiler was only able to make it through 2.2 innings before giving up six hits and five earned runs. From there, Jordan Holloway came in and pitched 4.1 innings while only surrendering two hits and achieving six strikeouts. Holloway led the way as closers Anthony Bass and Anthony Bender finished the game.

For the Dodgers, Jake Reed started on the mound and only made it one inning while giving up one hit. In the second inning came Mitchell White, who threw a total of four innings while giving up three hits and two earned runs. After White, Los Angeles threw four other pitchers to try and throw off the Marlins, however, it did not work.
