Montreal Canadiens Vs Tampa Bay Lightning Game Day Preview
After winning Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final by a 5-1 margin on Monday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning look to build on their lead in Game 2 of the series on Wednesday night.
Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens look to rebound from a Game 1 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In order to do so, the scoring line of Tyler Toffoli, Nick Suzuki, and Cole Caufield will have to do much better.
Also, the Canadiens need to limit the turnovers, which cost them in Game 1, particularly on the Lightning’s first two goals. You cannot make those mistakes (turnovers) in any game, in any series, against any team, especially in the Stanley Cup Final.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning look to build on their lead in Game 2 of the series on Wednesday night. However, they will have to do it without Alex Killorn, who will not play in Game 2 due to a lower-body injury that he suffered in Game 1 when blocking a Jeff Petry shot midway through the second period.
Every injury at this point in the playoffs is significant, but this one could be potentially impactful given how much Killorn has contributed this postseason. He is second in the league in goals, fourth in total points, and plays on both the Lightning’s great power play and penalty kill units.
