The Florida Panthers picked up a huge road win on Tuesday night, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2. With the win, the Florida Panthers move to 16-5-4. With Columbus’s loss, they have lost 7 of their last 9 games, and are 10-12-5 on the season.

The first few minutes began with some big saves by Sergei Bobrovsky and Joonas Korpisalo. Florida then broke the ice at 15:01, with Juho Lammikko getting the goal, and MacKenzie Weegar getting the assist.
In the 2nd period, Florida got two power-play opportunities and it resulted in two power-play goals. The first power-play goal was by Patric Hornquist, his 10th of the year, assisted by Aaron Ekblad and Jonathan Huberdeau at 2:45 in the period. Ekblad’s assist was his 150th of his career, tying Jay Bouwmeester for the third most by a Panthers’ defenseman in franchise history. Columbus then got a goal three minutes later, scored by Michael Del Zotto. Florida’s second power-play goal was by Owen Tippett, his 2nd of the season, assisted by Gustav Forsling and Anthony Wennberg.
The third period was then dominated by Columbus. Oliver Bjorkstand scored his 8th goal of the season, nine minutes in. At the very end of the 3rd, Florida had a key penalty kill, and then Carter Verhaeghe got the empty netter, with Weegar getting his 2nd assist of the night.
Sergei Bobrovsky
Goaltending played a huge role in Tuesday’s game, with one current, and one past Blue Jacket in net. Sergei Bobrovsky made a season-high 38 of a possible 40 saves, while Joonas Korpisalo made 29 of a possible 32 saves.
“I feel great,” Bobrovsky said. “The last 5-6 games, I’ve felt unreal. I’ve felt focused, I’ve felt strong and I’ve felt confident. It’s fun to be around and be a part of this team. They play great hockey. Everybody delivers every night… We all pull the rope in the same direction. It’s definitely fun to be a part of it.”
Bobrovsky is now 9-2-2 on the season, with a .905 SV%.
