Panthers Regain First in Central Division

The Florida Panthers beat the Dallas Stars on Monday night, regaining first place in the Central Division.

Game Recap:

While Dallas lost their 6th straight game, major credit has to be given to Anton Khudobin, who faced a career-high 52 shots. Khudobin stopped 49 out of the 52, finishing the night with a terrific .961 SV%.

Bowness on Khudobin: “We wasted a great goaltending performance. I feel bad for Anton, that’s the best game he’s given us all year.”

For the Panthers, Chris Driedger had another terrific game. Driedger made 24 saves to seal the Panthers’ sixth win in the last eight games.

Quenneville on the Panthers: “The guys are coming to play each and every night, doing what we have to do. Playing right has been very noticeable… If you play hard and you play with purpose, you give your chance shift in, shift out.”

3 Stars of the Game:

    1. Aaron Ekblad- The defensive forward and former #1 pick for the Panthers has looked really good as of recent. On Monday night, Aaron Ekblad had 25:52 minutes of ice time, contributing his 6th goal of the season.
    2. Anton Khudobin- Dallas’ goaltending problems have taken a lot of heat this season, but even with the loss, Khudobin received a lot of credit.
    3. Aleksander Barkov- Considered to many as Florida’s best player, Barkov had an empty netter to seal the deal for Florida.
