Jaguars Beat Eagles on Game-Winning Field Goal in London

With only 12 seconds left in the game, kicker Jake Elliott gave the Philadelphia Eagles a 17-16 lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London. The Jaguars needed a big play to win the game, as they were out of timeouts and had just eight seconds on the clock.

An unlikely hero rose to the occasion: 12-year veteran running back Ameer Abdullah. Philadelphia chose to kick to Abdullah instead of rookie Josh Cameron, who had a touchdown return taken off the board earlier in the contest. Abdullah took the kick 53 yards down the field to the Eagles’ 39 yard line with one second left.

Jaguars kicker Cam Little, who missed the extra point that would have tied the game at 17, was up to attempt the 57 yard field goal. Little knocked the ball through the uprights, lifting Jacksonville to an AFC South-best 4-1.

“It was really cool [to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium],” Little said. “Growing up a massive Premier League fan, waking up every Saturday morning watching it. The coolest moment of my career going out and doing it in actual stadium.”

Despite being without starting long snapper Ross Matiscik, defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton delivered the snap to Logan Cooke in time for the game-winning kick.

“Stepping up for your team and helping them win games, it’s a big moment,” Hamilton said. “Whatever I can do, I’ll do it to help my team win games. Hopefully I don’t have to [long snap] next week and we can move on, but it was fun.”

In his first of two games in the United Kingdom, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence continued his strong 2026 campaign with 331 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Wide receiver Parker Washington rebounded after a quiet Week 4, going for 124 yards and both Jacksonville touchdowns.

“One of the craziest games, maybe the craziest game I’ve ever been a part of, and I’ve been in some pretty wild ones,” Lawrence said. “Just how cool is this sport? The game’s never over.”

Without Saquon Barkley or former Jaguar Tank Bigsby, the Eagles were held to just 22 rushing yards on 18 attempts. Through five games, Philadelphia is averaging the second-least yards per game, only ahead of the 0-5 Tennessee Titans.

The Jaguars will finish their international road trip at Wembley Stadium against the Houston Texans next Sunday. Houston just picked up its first win against Tennessee and are adding former top pick Marvin Harrison Jr. to the offense after a trade with the Arizona Cardinals.

“We’ll have some time over the next two days to digest it and look at the tape,” Lawrence said. “Got to keep getting better.”

Kick-off against the Texans is set for 9:30 a.m. on October 18.
