Pat Maroon Strengthens the Lightning’s Off-Ice Roster

The Tampa Bay Lightning strengthened its off-ice roster by hiring Pat Maroon as a TV analyst and Alumni Relations Brand Ambassador.

After 14 seasons and 848 games in the NHL, Maroon retired from professional hockey. He didn’t lose his way or waste any time thinking about “what’s next”.

He has a big and energizing personality, three Stanley Cups (two of them with the Lightning), and some previous TV experience. During the 2025 playoffs, Maroon appeared on NHL Network and assisted as a guest expert on TNT’s NHL broadcasts. It’s a great idea to bring him closer to his new hockey home.

The St. Louis-native represented Team USA at the 2016 World Championship by scoring three points in 10 games. He knew how to deliver power plays and give entertaining intermission interviews.

Maroon played four seasons for the Lightning, posting 29 goals, 82 points, 511 hits, 415 penalty minutes, and a -21 in 280 games as a Bolt. Fans love him. During the offseason, he would pop up at youth hockey camps, posing for pictures with players, sharing hockey stories, and engaging with community outreach programs. Last summer wasn’t different. The Lightning digital team published a few funny reels of Pat Maroon interacting with players at the all-girls’ summer hockey clinic.

The Lightning and Vinik Sports Group have an extensive community program that focuses on youth hockey development, ball hockey, summer camps, the Bolts on Board cruise, and other events held all year long. Pat Maroon will continue his journey outside of on-ice battles by bringing the community closer to their favorite team.
