Do-or-Die for UCF Baseball: Knights Fight to Keep Season Alive

It’s do-or-die time for UCF baseball.

The Knights dropped a heartbreaker to Baylor last night, falling 5-4 after giving up a crushing three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth. With the loss, their Big 12 Tournament hopes are now hanging by a thread.

Making matters worse, BYU demolished Texas Tech 13-4, taking a one-game lead over UCF in the conference standings. The scenario is now brutally simple—if UCF loses tonight and BYU wins again, the Knights’ season is officially over.

But there’s still hope.

Leading the charge for UCF is Andrew Williamson, who’s been nothing short of electric at the plate. The sophomore slugger recently hit for the cycle and crushed home runs in three straight games against Texas Tech. He’s been the heart of the Knights’ offense, and if they’re going to extend their season, it’ll be on the back of his bat.

First baseman Lex Boedicker is another name to watch. The senior has delivered in clutch moments all season long and will need to provide veteran leadership in what might be his final game in black and gold.

Tonight’s matchup against Baylor isn’t just another game—it’s a last stand. The Knights must play with urgency, focus, and heart if they want to survive and fight another day.

Who will rise to the moment? Will Williamson continue his tear and carry UCF into the weekend?

One thing’s for sure: the season comes down to tonight.
