Big 12 Baseball Standings Update

As of May 11, 2025, the UCF Knights baseball team has improved their Big 12 Conference record to 8–19, following a series win over Texas Tech. This places them in a tie for 12th place with BYU, both teams holding identical conference records. Utah trails closely behind with a 7–20 conference record.

The top 12 teams in the Big 12 standings qualify for the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, scheduled from May 21 to 24 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. With their recent performance, UCF is now in a position to secure a spot in the tournament, especially if they continue their winning momentum.

A pivotal game to watch is the upcoming matchup between BYU and Utah on Tuesday. A loss for BYU would give UCF sole possession of the 12th spot, allowing them to control their own destiny for tournament qualification.

Here’s a snapshot of the current Big 12 standings for the bottom teams vying for the final tournament spots:

Rank Team Conference Record Overall Record
12 UCF 8–19 27–24
12 BYU 8–19 24–25
14 Utah 7–20 26–27

With the season nearing its conclusion, every game is crucial. Continued success and favorable outcomes in other matchups will be key to securing their spot in the Big 12 Tournament.
