Philosphies Clash As FSU Faces Off Against SMU

FSU finally won a game! They beat the Cal Bears in an absolute slugfest. Patrick Payton finally showed why he’s regarded so highly by NFL scouts. Mike Norvell must have heard me complain about the lack of touches Lawerence Toafili was getting and they ran the offense through him as he had 17 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown, completely flipping the script on the offense. It’s still incompetent but being able to run the ball is a start. FSU is traveling to Dallas to face a new ACC foe in the SMU Mustangs. These are two teams having nightmare seasons and are looking to get off the mat this Saturday and save their season.

SMU just beat TCU in a massive rivalry game but there’s still a dark cloud hanging over the program. Coach Rhett Lashlee has struggled this season in all aspects of coaching. Playing two QBs to start the season hasn’t helped. Preston Stone, who was seen as a legit NFL prospect coming into the season, has been benched for a more mobile QB in Kevin Jennings. Maybe it was the right decision with how bad the offensive line has been for the Mustangs but having an ultra-talented QB sitting on the bench doesn’t seem like the best move but hey at least Coach Lashlee made a move… something Coach Norvell has refused to do.

DJ remains the starter and he’s still awful. A move has to be made but Norvel refuses to do it. The season is on life support as the Noles are on the mat with a chance to get off but DJ doesn’t allow them to do that. Why can’t they make a change? Fans are clamoring for Brock Glenn with chants of “LETBROCKROCK” echoing throughout the FSU community. I don’t care how much you paid DJ to transfer to FSU… a move has to be made. They started feeding Toafili… now it’s time to let Glenn spin it.

So… the story is that one coach refused to make a change, and one coach made too many changes. Two philosophies clash to save their season. We’ll find out which coach is making the right moves.
