Mikey Williams, the former Memphis Tiger, has transferred to UCF. Mikey Williams joins a Knights team that has a lot of momentum as they just knocked off the third best team in the entire country, and their Big 12 rival, Kansas.
In his last year of high school, Williams averaged 23.8 points, 9.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game. Mix in a lot of high-flying plays on YouTube and you have the newest UCF Knight on the court.
It is unclear whether Williams can suit up for the Knights this year but when he does, Addition Arena will be bouncing. Williams didn’t play a single game for Memphis and still awaits to make his college basketball debut.
Williams wrote under an Instagram post of him in a UCF uniform, “all I needed was a chance,” signaling the transfer.
Williams committed to Memphis in hopes of playing for Penny Hardaway back in November 2022 but in April 2023, legal issues kept him off the court for around eight months. He is now back and better than ever. UCF, here is your newest Knight wearing Black and Gold, the former four-star recruit, Mikey Williams. We shall see when he makes his debut…
