Jacksonville Jaguars Select Anton Harrison in First Round of 2023 NFL Draft

With the 27th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Anton Harrison, a tackle from the University of Oklahoma. Harrison now joins an elite talent of Oklahoma Sooner tackles taken in the first round such as Trent Williams and Lane Johnson.

The 2023 NFL Draft class is extremely-deep with talented offensive linemen as Harrison was one of the five offensive tackles taken in just the first round.

The Jaguars announced publicly on draft night that former second-round pick and Left Tackle Cam Robison will be suspended to begin the 2023 campaign due to Performance Enhancement Drugs (PEDs). Anton Harrison still joins an extremely talented offensive line in Jacksonville with players such as Walker Little, Brandon Scherff, Luke Fortner, etc.

Anton Harrison was a phenomenal left tackle for the Sooners and put together impressive back-to-back seasons in his sophomore and junior year.

As a sophomore in 2021 in 13 games and 671 snaps, Harrison allowed 14 QB hurries, one QB hit, and allowed only two sacks. He followed that up with an even better season in his junior year in 2022. In 12 games this past season in 862 snaps, Anton allowed only eight QB hurries, no QB hits, and only one sack. Harrison has done a great job protecting his QB the last two seasons only allowing one QB hit over that span. Harrison also has done a phenomenal job at just 21 years of age staying upright and healthy, missing only one game in the last two seasons.

Jacksonville was very adamant about following their draft board and continuing to build around their franchise QB Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars will have 11 picks remaining in the 2023 Draft and expect them to make moves on days two and three of the Draft.
