With the Super Bowl and March Madness already in the past – will Floridians ever be able to participate in online sports gambling?
If you recall, residents of the sunshine state were able to pass online sports gambling in 2021. The Hard Rock was even able to deploy an app. However, it was forced to be taken down in December of that year after a number of court events that stipulated that the legality of sports wagering need some more investigation.
The app was available for a handful of weeks and offered a great end user experience. At this time, the Seminole Tribe is fighting court decisions that disabled online Florida sports gambling. The appeals process is slowly moving and at this time – we do not project any movement prior to the close of 2023.

Does Florida Have Any Sports Gambling Services?
The short answers is “no”. Florida has joined Texas and California as the most populous states that lack online sports gambling. For 2023, the opportunity to wager on the NCAA tournament or the upcoming MLB season will be a lost cause. The chances of being able to place a wager on Baker Mayfield throwing a few TD paces for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look fairly slim as well. Of course their are a number of Seminole-owned casinos that offer a great gaming experience. However, these properties do not offers sports betting as a service.
Regardless of the above points, all is not lost! Just because you do not have the ability to legally bet on sports online, we do have options. There are plenty of resources that are dedicated in showing you online gambling Florida options. As the legality around sports wagering gets sorted, we can still test our handicapping skills by played traditional daily fantasy sports platforms. Platforms like FanDuel or DraftKings.
