USF Defeats NJIT in Men’s College Basketball – Game Recap

1st Half:

NJIT got off to a blazing start with Shooting Guard Adam Hess knocking down three straight 3’s giving the NJIT Highlanders an early 12-7 lead, four minutes into the game. 

The USF Bulls had some high-powered scoring and cleaned up the glass in the first half in a tightly contested back and forth game. Guard Selton Miguel put up a team first-half leading 14 points and Center Russel Tchewa led the way on the boards with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, Guard Adam Hess knocked down five straight threes before missing his first shot on his sixth attempt totaling 15 points, an impressive mark.

At halftime, the Bulls led 49-40.

2nd Half:

The Bulls came out strong to start the second half, with a 17-2 point run in the first eight minutes, extending their lead to a commanding 24 points. USF Guards Tyler Harris and Selton Miguel hit the 20+ point mark in the match. The two combined for eight threes and 16 made field goals. 

From that point on the Bulls never surrendered the lead as they took the victory in dominating fashion after a very close first half between the teams.

Final score: USF – 92  NJIT – 73

Next Game:

The USF Bulls will not be back in action until after Christmas break as they will take on the University of Memphis in Memphis on December 29th. The Bulls will not have a home game until the New Year, January 4th against Temple University. GO BULLS!!!
