Tampa Bay Rays to Play in Fourth Straight Postseason

The Tampa Bay Rays will be in contention for their first World Series title once the season comes to an end on Wednesday. The team sits a game and a half behind the Seattle Mariners for the second wild card spot. However, the playoff teams are all set in the American League.

The deal was sealed last Friday, Sept. 30, when the Rays defeated the Houston Astros 7-3. They would go on to lose the next three in the lone star state’s capital, but the trip guaranteed them a spot in the playoffs once again.

Manager Kevin Cash to the team after the Friday win against Houston: “Ups, downs, you guys have stayed and remained consistent all season long. Be really proud. The goal now is to be doing this in a week. Let’s go!”

The wild card games begin on Friday, October 7th. The Rays will play in Cleveland against the Guardians.

In the mean time, Tampa Bay will play Game 162 against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in what will be the final game of the regular season!
