Simply put, the Gators’ most notable opponents on their conference slate are Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Four of Florida’s 18 conference games will be played against the Tigers, Volunteers, and Wildcats, whom the Gators went just 1-4 against last season. Florida’s lone win against the aforementioned teams was a 63-62 home win over Auburn, who will be the first SEC opponent on Florida’s schedule. In addition to this, Florida’s Head Coach Todd Golden worked at Auburn under Head Coach Bruce Pearl from 2014-2016, as a director of basketball operations and as an assistant basketball coach. From there, Florida will play Texas A&M twice in January (January 4th and 18th), who was able to beat the Gators in the SEC Tournament and eliminate Florida’s March Madness hopes. Finally, January 7th will be Mike White’s first trip back to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. This time, however, White will sit at the visitors’ bench, where he’ll be coaching the Georgia Bulldogs for the 2022-2023 basketball season.
