The second to last regular season home game for the Miami Heat was a matchup against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets on a warm Tuesday evening. The Miami Heat ended up stinging (no pun intended) Charlotte, improving to a record of 52 wins and 28 loses. The Charlotte Hornets, meanwhile, fall to 40 wins and 39 loses.
Recap
The Hornets got off to a hot start by scoring the first nine points of the game. After that, however, the Heat quickly caught on fire, leading throughout the rest of the game.
Miami had a lot of stars play well on the night. The likely sixth man of the year, Shooting Guard Tyler Herro, finished with a career-high 35 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. All-Star Jimmy Butler finished with 27 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Butler even knocked down two three-pointers from behind the arch. Center Bam Adebayo also played well, finishing the game with 22 points and nine rebounds. Lastly, Duncan Robinson hit seven three-pointers in route to 21 points.
The Hornets tried to gain their strength but could not hit shots down the stretch. Miles Bridges finished with a team-high 29 points. As expected, LaMelo Ball dazzled with 14 assists but could not get the job done in the end.
The fourth quarter decided the fate of this game as the Heat outscored the Hornets 42 to 18 in the final frame. Also, Miami out-shot Charlotte from the field, the arch, and the stripe.
