Panthers Fall to Golden Knights in Sin City

The Florida Panthers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 5-3 on Thursday night. This win ended a five-game losing streak for Vegas and was the Panthers first regulation loss since February 26th. Logan Thompson had a great performance for the Knights going 33-36 with a save percentage of .917. Spencer Knight had an “okay” performance for the Cats going 28-32 with a save percentage of .875.

Florida opened the scoring in this game with Carter Verhaeghe scoring his 21st of the year. Later in the frame, Vegas responded with Brett Howden scoring to tie the game.

In the second, Vegas would come in strong. Evgenii Dadonov, a former Panther, scored early in the frame to give the Knights the lead. Later on in the period, Dadonov would score his second goal of the game to make it 3-1. Florida would respond late in the second with Sam Bennett scoring his 25th of the year, surpassing Duclair for second on the team lead in goals. At the end of two periods, Florida found themselves down 3-2.

Early on in the third, Florida would get the equalizer with Sam Reinhart scoring his 23rd of the year. However, Vegas would respond less than a minute later with Nicolas Roy scoring to give the Knights another lead. The Knights would go on to add an empty-netter to seal the win.
