The hot name as of late for the Miami Hurricanes is current Tennessee Volunteer OC Alex Golesh.
Golesh led a prominent and potent Volunteers offense in 2021 where they averaged a scary 39.3 PPG, putting them at seventh in the country. But it doesn’t stop there. It was an insanely well-rounded offense under Golesh where the Volunteers had the No. 11 rushing offense, No. 19 in first down efficiency and No. 25 in third down offense.
Hendon Hooker (the VT transfer QB) had a career year under Golesh where he put up a whopping 2,945 yards, 31 touchdowns and a mere three interceptions. And that’s while battling the likes of the SEC and the 28th ranked toughest schedule out of 130 FBS teams.
Now, the exciting part; inserting Golesh into a LOADED Miami roster full of explosive talent led by Tyler Van Dyke. Van Dyke led the Canes with 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Those aren’t gaudy numbers, but TVD was able to serve up that kind of production in only eight games.
Miami also has a two-headed monster out of the backfield in Jaylon (Rooster) Knighton and Don Chaney. Miami is also loaded at Tight End (Will Mallory, Elijah Arroyo). Let’s not forget the weapons the Hurricanes have on the outside with Keyshawn Smith and Xavier Restrepo leading the charge.
Needless to say, playing in a weaker conference than the SEC, Alex Golesh should have no problems surpassing the production numbers he had at UT with Miami.
If this plays out in Miami’s favor and the Hurricanes are able to reel in Golesh, get excited Hurricane fans! The Canes will be in for an offensive explosion!
